One might not think of Washington, DC as a romantic place. But I assure you that this city is filled with love and lovers. Many romantic films were made in Washington whereas the monuments were simply a backdrop for love and politics a conduit for romance.
Take the day off and declare February 14th a day for love…..starting with a couples massage. Many Day Spas offer Swedish Massage for two. Next, a stroll in the park. Walking hand in hand with the one you love is definitely romantic. Even in Winter, Dumbarton Oaks is a lovely place to be with gardens and guided tours to impress your loved one.
Afterwards, go to a Cafe’ in Georgetown for a nice hot Mocha and a little whispering of poetry. You can pop into a shop or two and make an impulse purchase for your loved one. Perhaps a piece of jewelry? Too soon?
Next, one might be ready for a night tour of Washington, DC Monuments. The city and the monuments are beautiful in the moonlight. A delightful tour of the great monuments is a nice diversion after a day filled with chocolates and kisses. For two hours, take in the monumental beauty of the town rich power and history. I’ve never seen a refusal of a stolen kiss underneath the moonlight.
Finally, a Valentine’s Dinner for two at a French Bistro….oh the joy that your Sweetie will express as you enter the restaurant of your choice. There are several nice choices from Georgetown to DuPont Circle. After a day like this, who could ask for anything more…enjoy the fruits of your labor!
