What better place to celebrate the 4th of July weekend than in Washington DC?

Morning activities in the nation’s capitol include a free concert at the National Cathedral beginning at 11 a.m., and the annual 4th of July parade in downtown Washington DC, along Constitution Avenue, beginning at noon. Then enjoy the many events and festivities taking place along the National Mall in the afternoon.

Beginning at 8, the National Symphony Orchestra will perform it’s  “A Capitol Fourth Concert” on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Arrive several hours early if you expect to get a good spot!

As is tradition, fireworks will begin to light up the sky along the National Mall and amid the backdrop of the Washington Monument after dusk, usually a little after 9 p.m. Not to be missed!

Thinking of venturing to Washington DC for the 4th of July weekend? Consider our DC accommodations, located just steps from all the festivities and offering complimentary breakfast and WiFi to our guests.
