The National Building Museum

The National Building Museum is one of the most spectacular historical buildings in Washington, DC. Once the Pension building, it was designed to house the Pension Bureau and served as venue for social events for Washington, DC’s “social elite” during that period. The “Great Hall” is still used for social events to this day.

The museum displays various exhibits including their permanent collection of architectural photography and toys. Right now the building held the Cherry Blossom Festival.

The museum is located across the street from the Judiciary Square metro stop on the red line or the Gallery Place metro stop on the yellow and green lines just two blocks away from the museum and about 15 minutes from Dupont circle Metro Station near our Washington DC lodging.
