The Theodore Roosevelt Island

For a bit of beauty and outdoor adventure, visit Theodore Roosevelt Island which is dedicated  for our 26th President who was considered an avid outdoorsman, conservationist, naturalist and visionary. There, you can hike (bikes are not permitted on the Island) and visit his memorial. It is located near the Roslyn Metro stop (blue/orange lines, 15 minutes away from our DC Guest House ) at northbound lane of G.W. Pkwy. between Key and Roosevelt bridges. The Island is accessible only by footbridge at the northbound parking lot. Hours of Operation: Open year round between 6am – 10pm. While there, you’ll be near other attractions, such as Glen Echo Park, Mount Vernon Trail, U.S. Marine Corps Memorial and the Arlington House.
