Rental cars in Washington DC

A rental car is a good transportation option if you want to visit the Washington metropolitan  area.  Renting a car in Washington DC is not difficult, in fact, car rental agencies have many competitive rates and offers that can make it hard to decide which company to go with.  We recommend looking for special rates and reserving online. We always suggest to pick up/rent cars at Union Station (only 10 to 15 minutes from our Washington DC Accommodations Hotel) and  Reagan Airport. Why? Because you have  a lot more choices of rental car  companies, it’s cheaper (especially at Reagan airport) and because it’s “outside” downtown DC which if you want to avoid rush hours, traffic, it’s something to consider!

Make sure you are aware of hidden fees, age restrictions, and discounts before reserving a car. You don’t want to go to the car rental counter unprepared because you might end up leaving with a higher rental rate than necessary. Check your own car insurance first to see what they cover and also think about prepaying for gas: if you return the car half empty, you will have still prepaid for a full tank of gas. Opt for filling up the gas tank before returning the car, and last tip for the end; if you would like a nicer car for the same rate of the initial car you reserved, it’s always worth to ask for it! If there are plenty of cars available at the time, you might just get your wish :-)

Recipes

Looking for a new egg breakfast idea for your weekend mornings?

Here is an amazing, quick and delicious recipe for you to try if you don’t feel like frying or boiling eggs.  Try baking them!  This is a type of “Egg Souffle” without all the work.

Pre-Heat Your Oven to 375 Degrees

Take a 6 tray Mini Loaf pan and spray over with some cooking spray in each cup.

Crack 6 eggs with the yolk intact into each circle of your mini loaf pan

Place a dash of salt, pepper, thyme, dill and parsley.  You can slice up some sandwich meat of your choice into small 1/4 inch squares and place them around the yolk.  Next add some mozzarella cheese over the very top.  For cheese lovers apply cheese generously. Be careful not to break the yolk while adding your toppings.

Ensuring that the oven is well heated to 375, place the tray on the lower tray of your oven and wait for 8-10 minutes.  Try not to open the oven more than once to check on your eggs as the temperature drops immediately each time.  I would recommend waiting the 8 minutes and shaking the try just a bit to see if the eggs have cooked well enough.

While they eggs are baking, you can slice up some onions and mushrooms and sautee them in a pan with some butter to add on the side or as a topping on your dish.

Remove the Eggs from the cups carefully using a small rubber spatula. Serve and Enjoy!
