The Heurich Brew House Museum, Dupont Circle, Washington DC

Christian Heurich was a German immigrant brewer, real estate investor and philanthropist. Heurich was Washington’s second largest land owner during his time besides the US Government, and ran what was at that time, the nation’s oldest brewery until he ceased at the ripe age of 102 years. The Brewmaster’s Castle is the most well preserved late-Victorian home in the country. It is a Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.

There is a suggested donation of $5 for admission to the Christian Heurich House Museum. The Victorian Gardens are open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Castle is open for walk in tours on Thursday and Fridays at 11:30am and 1:00pm and Saturdays 11:30am, 1:00pm and 2:30pm. Guided tours by appointment are available on Wednesdays and Group tours are also available by appointment.

The House is easily accessible by the Dupont Circle metro station on the redline or metro bus and is only 15 minute walk from Washington dc bed and breakfast inn.
