The Renwick Gallery which is located not that far from our Washington DC Inn is a branch of the Smithsonian Institute’s American Art Museum and it’s also the home of the American Art Museum’s crafts and decorative arts program. The exhibitions contain both contemporary and traditional American crafts created in various mediums and materials such as clay, glass and wood just to name a few.
The Renwick Gallery’s admission is free in the tradition of the Smithsonian Institute’s museums and the Galleries hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5:30pm daily (the gallery closes on December 25th each year). The Renwick Gallery is located in proximity to the White House. It is conveniently located near the Farragut North (Red line) and Farragut West (Blue and Orange lines) Metro stations.
