The Smithsonian Institution officially began construction Wednesday on a new museum dedicated to African-American culture and heritage! The Smithsonian’s 19th museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture will be located on the National Mall and will open in 2015.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture will be a place that transcends the boundaries of race and culture that divide the Americans and where all Americans can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience.
Until the opening, the Smithsonian invite you to visit the African-American gallery located on the second floor of the National Museum of American History.
