The Octagon Museum is thought to be one of the most haunted house museum in Washington, DC. The home originally belonged to John Tayloe, an entrepreneur. The building was designed by Dr. William Thornton, the first architect of the US Capitol. The building now serves as the Museum of The American Architectural Foundation.
Natalie Zanin provides theatrical historic walking tours throughout Washington, DC. The “A Tale of Tayloes and Other Scary Things” tour is given for a limited time during the month of October. The price per ticket is $16 and must be purchased ahead of time by 5:00pm the day of the tour. The tour includes a tour of the grounds and premises of the museum, as well as some haunted areas in the surrounding neighborhood.
