Bethesda is a culturally diverse community in  Montgomery County in the suburbs of Maryland, located just 15minutes outside of the district by metro. On the second Friday of every month, from 6-9pm, the area art galleries and studios participate in the Bethesda Art Walk , allowing visitors and locals alike to enjoy some of the local artists as well as some national and international artists as well. The studios and galleries showcase art in various media including painting, photography and sculptures. You can walk through downtown Bethesda and enjoy the open houses at your leisure or take advantage of the free guided tours offered during the Spring and Fall months. Downtown Bethesda has a variety of shops and restaurants offering cuisine from classic American, Mexican, Indian, Belgian Style Brasserie and Asian Fusion just to name a few. The area is lovely to walk through, an often busy and lively on the weekend evenings. This event is free!

Downtown Bethesda is accessible by the Bethesda metro station serviced by the red line. The downtown area is less than a 5 minute walk away from the metro station, or you can catch the Bethesda Circulator, which makes frequent stops near all of the area galleries.
