For an activity that the whole family can enjoy, take a trip to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens. It’s just a 16 mile drive from Washington, D.C. located along the Potomac River. The Estate has been maintained so guests can see it as it was in 1799- gardens, buildings and style of clothing included. The original Estate totaled about 8,000 acres and of that, only 500 has been preserved. Still, there is plenty to see!

Visitors can also rest their weary heels at the ? Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant or Food Court and do a bit of shopping at the different shops located on the Estate.?
