This year, from July 18 to 21, 2013 the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C. will host the OCA 40th anniversary. The 2013 National Convention will, serve as a homecoming for all who have been involved since our founding in 1973. The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington DC will be hosting the 2013 National Security Symposium/ ROA Convention this August 7-10, 2013. The Biggest Loser Run/Walk Marathon DC July 14, 2013 – Need Hotel Accommodations?

The Biggest Loser will have a run/walk marathon right here in Washington, DC on Sunday July 14th, 2013. Participants can choose between the 5k or the 10k marathons. Participants can register up until July 10, 2013 for the marathon. There will be a promotional event at The Gryphon the day before (July 13, 2013), which is at 1337 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036. The actual marathon will be on Sunday and participants will meet at the RFK Stadium which is at 2400 E Capitol Street, SE
Washington, DC 20003 - Parking Lot 8 (see website for up to date information as this information is subject to change).

The ICDAR 2013

The ICDAR 2013 conference will be held at the Washington DC Omni Shoreham hotel with the main conference sessions being held August 25-28, 2013, workshops on the 23rd and 24th and half-day tutorials on the 24th and 25th. A doctoral consortium will be held on the afternoon of the 25th.

American Guest House pictures Recipes

Blueberry Cake Recipe! Perfect for a Sunday Afternoon Dessert!

One of the great breakfast features we offer is our homemade pastries and cakes. Our guests have always complimented us on them and we take pride in using the finest ingredients and that extra American Guest House touch. Below is our recipe that we would like to offer our guests so that you can always have a piece of us to share with your folks at home!

The Blueberry cake is one of my favorites!

Ingredients:

1 1/12 cups of Sugar

1/2 cup of butter

3 oz of cream cheese

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups of flour

1 tsp of baking soda

1/2 tsp of salt

1/2 cup of milk

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1/2 cup of blueberries (fresh)

The combination and mixing of these ingredients is key. Pre-Heat Stove to 325 degrees F. Thoroughly mix the Sugar and Butter together and then add in the Cream Cheese. Separate the yolk from the egg white and add in only the EGG YOLK one at a time into the batter. After mixing your batter, take the Flour, Salt and Baking Soda and sift these ingredients separately. After the dry ingredients have been sifted, add the batter (Sugar, Cream Cheese and Egg Yolks) into the Flour mixture. Slowly mix these together, gracefully adding the Milk and Vanilla into the mixture. Next add the egg whites and mix but do not over mix. Just enough so that the egg whites blend into the mixture. Finally add the Blueberries and mix slowly with a spatula. Place mixture into a greased 9×5 baking pan into your stove. Bake until golden brown and enjoy!!
